Who is Ronnie Cromer?

  • A father who believes we can improve our public schools
Ronnie Cromer will make improving our ailing school system top priority. Ronnie, his wife and both of their children graduated from public schools in District 18. As our State Senator, Ronnie will work to improve and broaden early childhood education opportunities, expand teacher quality by encouraging and rewarding meritorious teachers, offer more choices to parents, empower teachers and restore classroom discipline.

  • A local business leader with real experience bringing jobs to our area
Ronnie Cromer knows what it takes to compete in today's economy. As owner of Lo-Rex Pharmacy, partner in Plaza Management Group and Vice Chairman of the Capital Bank Advisory Board, Ronnie has over 20 years of real business experience. Ronnie will use his experience as a small business-owner to work to keep our local economy on track and to encourage and recruit high-quality, new industries that will provide high-paying jobs in District 18.

  • A businessman who knows higher taxes are not the answer
Ronnie Cromer believes especially in times of economic downturn and budget problems, that government should be run more like a business so that the tax burden on working families can be reduced. As a small businessman, Ronnie understands raising taxes is not the answer to state budget problems. Ronnie will work to increase our state's revenue through increased economic development programs and by allowing families and small businesses to keep more of their own hard-earned money and encouraging them to spend more in the marketplace.

  • A Pharmacist with a prescription for our state's healthcare problems
Ronnie Cromer has 20 years experience helping folks in District 18 with their health care needs. As a Pharmacist, Ronnie sees patients every day who struggle to deal with the high cost of prescription drugs. As our State Senator, Ronnie will use his knowledge and experience to lead the fight to ensure that the state fully funds Medicaid from recurring sources of revenue, to protect prescription drug programs that help seniors and those on fixed incomes and to make health care and prescription drugs more affordable for all South Carolinians especially senior citizens on fixed incomes.

My name is Ronnie Cromer and I am the South Carolina Senator for District 18, which includes Newberry and Saluda counties and portions of Lexington and Union Counties.

As a lifelong resident of our area, I care deeply about our community and our state. I proudly served this nation as a member of the armed forces and my family and I have long been active in this region through our church and civic organizations.

I am serving as State Senator because I believe we need sound, new ideas to solve many of our state's old problems. I am visiting homes and families and listening to your views on issues. I look forward to speaking to you personally.
